Frequently asked questions
Does this include taxes?
No — these are gross (pre-tax) figures. Your take-home pay will be lower after income tax, social security and other deductions.
What about overtime pay?
The calculator assumes a flat hourly rate. If you regularly earn overtime at 1.5×, add the equivalent extra hours into the hours-per-week field to approximate it.
How do I convert salary back to an hourly rate?
Divide your annual salary by 52 (weeks) and then by your weekly hours. For example, $52,000 ÷ 52 ÷ 40 = $25/hour.
